Cassandra Bushara

Head of Production

Cassandra Bushara is a Molecular Biotechnology professional and production specialist in medical device development and regulated manufacturing environments. As Head of Production at Marine Biomedical, she leads the production, validation, and scale-up of the company’s medical technologies, supporting the translation of research and development into validated, compliant manufacturing processes. 

In her role, Cassandra manages validation studies, oversees quality‑controlled production, and maintains the documentation systems that support regulatory and safety standards. Her responsibilities also extend to regulatory submissions, where she played a key role in preparing the production and validation evidence required for the company’s 510(k) submission. 

Within her role Cassandra closely with cross-functional teams across the organisation to refine manufacturing processes, strengthen quality systems, and support the commercialisation of Marine Biomedical’s biomaterial technologies, including PearlBone™, the company’s patented nacre‑derived bone substitute. 

Cassandra holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology from Curtin University and has hands‑on clinical laboratory experience from her time with PathWest. Her work is driven by a passion for advancing innovative biomaterials and helping bring next‑generation medical technologies to market. 

Beyond her professional role, Cassandra volunteers with St Mary’s Outreach Service, supporting community health initiatives and providing assistance to people in need.
