Dr Behzad Shiroud Heidari

Dr Behzad Shiroud Heidari is a Biomaterial Engineer specialising in the design, characterisation, and translational development of polymeric and composite systems for orthopaedic and soft tissue regeneration. Based in Perth, he has worked with Med/biotech companies as a consultant, supporting material optimisation, verification strategies, and product development. 

 He completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Australia in 2023, supported by an ARC Industrial Transformation Training Centre scholarship and a Science–Industry PhD Fellowship. He previously obtained a Master of Science in Polymer Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. 

 Dr Heidari has contributed to FDA 510(k) material characterisation program of PearlBoneTM and has led experimental strategies to optimise mechanical performance, degradation kinetics, and drug delivery profiles in bone substitute and soft tissue devices. 

He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in biomaterials and regenerative medicine journals and is an inventor on international patents relating to biopolymer compositions and bio adhesive systems.
