Professor Minghao Zheng is an internationally recognised clinician-scientist and a leading expert in bone biology, regenerative medicine, and orthopaedic innovation. As co-founder, Medical Advisor, and Non-Executive Director of Marine Biomedical, he has played a central role in shaping the company’s scientific direction and guiding the development of PearlBone™ from its earliest research foundations. His pioneering work on the biological properties of pearl-derived biomaterials, undertaken with Dr Rui Ruan and later in collaboration with co-founder Patrick Moase, laid the groundwork for transforming a novel concept into a clinically validated, regulatory-ready medical device. With a distinguished academic career at the University of Western Australia and extensive global research partnerships, Minghao brings deep scientific insight and clinical translation expertise to the company’s innovation pipeline.
Since Marine Biomedical’s establishment in 2021, Minghao has continued to provide strategic and clinical leadership, ensuring that product development is grounded in rigorous evidence and aligned with global best practice. His guidance has been instrumental in advancing PearlBone™ toward commercial readiness and strengthening the company’s collaborations across hospitals, universities, and industry. As a Non-Executive Director, he contributes to governance, risk oversight, and long-term strategy, helping position Marine Biomedical as a leader in regional Australian medtech innovation. Alongside his scientific achievements, Minghao remains committed to mentoring emerging researchers and advancing regenerative medicine through education and international collaboration.
