Rolee Kumar is the Chief Executive Officer of Marine Biomedical, bringing more than 25 years of experience translating scientific innovation into regulated, investable and market‑ready products across the life sciences and medical technology sectors. Originally trained as a molecular biologist before completing an MBA at the University of Western Australia, she combines scientific depth with commercial execution, with expertise spanning intellectual property strategy, regulatory pathway design, capital raising, strategic partnerships and global market entry. Her career has been defined by early identification and management of technical, regulatory and commercial risk to accelerate sustainable growth and support companies through major value‑inflection milestones.
Across senior roles in the biotechnology and medtech industries, Rolee has led complex innovation programs, secured approximately $15 million in federal and state grant funding, and closed multiple multi‑million‑dollar commercial transactions. As Director of Business Development at Phylogica Ltd (now PYC Therapeutics), she played a key role in advancing the company through its ASX listing, during which it achieved a market capitalisation approaching $100 million. Since joining Marine Biomedical, she has driven the company’s strategic growth, securing investment and leading the regulatory and commercial pathway for PearlBone™ toward international markets.
